RoboForex Overview

RoboForex is a multi-asset broker founded in 2009 and headquartered in Belize. It is known for low trading costs, mainly on its commission-based accounts, fast execution and a strong focus on automated trading. Its proprietary platforms include a code-free strategy builder, so traders can create algorithmic strategies without writing code. The broker also offers a wide selection of stock CFDs and ETFs, which sets it apart from many forex-focused competitors.

The broker states that RoboForex Ltd and its partners do not operate in the USA, Canada, Japan, Australia, Iran, Russia and other restricted countries. It also states that it does not target clients from the EU/EEA or UK. If you use services from a third-party company linked to the broker, you do so on your own initiative and accept the related risks. You can open an account through the official RoboForex website.

RoboForex Regulation and Safety

Regulation is one of the first things to check with any broker. Regulated firms must follow rules on client funds, reporting and conduct, which lowers the risk of fraud and unfair practices. You should always confirm a license directly with the regulator using the license number, rather than relying only on the broker's own materials.

According to the broker's listed details, RoboForex serves clients through the following regulated entity:

  • Regulator: FSC Belize
  • License number: 000138/32
  • Regulatory tier: 4

RoboForex is a member of the Hong Kong-based Financial Commission, an independent dispute resolution body. It also holds a Verify My Trade (VMT) certificate tied to Financial Commission standards. The broker lists a compensation fund of up to €20,000 per claim and civil liability insurance of up to €2,500,000. Check the current terms directly with the broker, as coverage details can change and may not apply in every case.

RoboForex is not regulated in the United States and does not accept American citizens. It does not hold an FCA license in the UK.

RoboForex Account Types

RoboForex offers several account types. Some are built for simple, commission-free trading, while others focus on tighter spreads with a per-lot commission.

ProCent and Pro Accounts

ProCent and Pro are commission-free accounts with a minimum deposit of $10 and leverage of up to 1:2000. They are often used for testing strategies and expert advisors. Costs are higher than on the commission-based accounts.

ProCent is a cent-based account, so balances are shown in cents. A $10 deposit becomes 1,000 cents, which can help limit risk while you learn live conditions. It supports floating spreads from 1.3 pips, trading on 28 FX pairs plus metals, MT4, MT5, WebTrader and mobile apps. Swap-free trading, one-click trading and a 30% stop-out level are also listed.

Prime, ECN and R StocksTrader Accounts

These accounts are the main choice for active traders who care about spread and commission costs:

  • Prime: commission from $1.00 per lot with very low spreads
  • ECN: average spread of 0.1 pips, $2.00 commission per lot, with spreads that can start from 0 pips
  • R StocksTrader: $100 minimum deposit with spread markup pricing

RoboForex removed separate commissions on the R Stocks account on September 2, 2024. The account now uses a spread markup that the broker says does not exceed 0.3% of the asset value.

RoboForex Fees and Trading Costs

RoboForex is strongest on commission-based pricing. The commission-free option is simpler, but it usually costs more per trade. The table below shows broker-listed EUR/USD examples for a standard lot.

AccountTypical spread (EUR/USD)Commission per round lotApproximate cost per 1.0 standard lot
Pro (commission-free)From 1.3 pips$0.00$13.00
ECN0.1 pips average$2.00$3.00
Prime0.1 pips average$1.00$2.00

Other broker-listed averages include 0.1 pips ($1.00) on GBP/USD, $0.02 on WTI crude oil and $0.08 on gold.

Stock and Index Fees

For stocks, the broker lists a minimum commission of either 0.07% or $0.009 to $0.025 per share, depending on the asset and the account base currency. Index trades carry a minimum commission of $1.00.

Swap Rates

Swaps can become a major cost on trades held overnight. The broker lists a positive swap on EUR/USD short positions, which means the account is credited rather than charged. Long positions carry a negative swap. The broker's example for a Prime account with one standard lot shows a long swap of -$0.92 per night, or -$6.44 over seven nights, and a short swap of +$0.09 per night, or +$0.63 over seven nights. Swap rates change, so check the current values yourself.

To check swap values in MT4 or MT5, right-click the symbol in Market Watch, choose Specification, then scroll to Swap Long and Swap Short.

Rebates and Inactivity Fees

RoboForex runs a volume-based cash rebate program that can reduce trading costs for active clients. The broker lists no inactivity fee.

RoboForex Trading Platforms and Tools

RoboForex supports MetaTrader 4 (MT4), MetaTrader 5 (MT5), the MobileTrader app, and R Trader platforms including R StocksTrader and R Web Trader. The proprietary platforms are the best fit for traders who want built-in automation, including the code-free strategy builder. Unlimited demo accounts are available for MT4, MT5 and the proprietary platforms, which is useful for testing tools and EAs. Keep in mind that demo fills and pricing can differ from live trading.

RoboForex Copy Trading and VPS Hosting

RoboForex offers copy trading with a minimum investment of $100. Strategy providers can charge a performance fee, a subscription fee, or offer free strategies to build an audience. The broker states that thousands of traders are available to choose from.

Free VPS hosting is available for verified accounts that meet a monthly volume requirement of 3 lots. If the requirement is not met, a $5 monthly fee applies.

RoboForex Deposits and Withdrawals

The minimum deposit is $10 for most accounts and $100 for R StocksTrader. Supported payment methods include bank wires, credit and debit cards, AstroPay, Skrill, Neteller, Perfect Money, AdvCash, Google Pay, Apple Pay and several local payment and voucher options. The broker states it does not charge internal fees for deposits or withdrawals, and payments are handled in the Members Area.

Processing times depend on the payment method. RoboForex may take up to 24 hours to process a request, and sometimes up to 48 hours. Some payment processors can take up to 10 business days, while many methods are instant once processed. The "Withdrawal without Commission" promo repays withdrawal commissions on the second, third and fourth Tuesday of each month.

RoboForex Bonuses and Rewards

RoboForex lists several promotions, including up to 10% extra funds on the account balance (terms apply), a cashback program credited monthly when conditions are met, and a $30 Welcome Bonus for new verified clients. The $30 Welcome Bonus applies to ProCent and Pro accounts. The broker states that profits from bonus funds and personal funds are both withdrawable.

A 15% cashback is available to verified accounts that trade at least 10 lots per month, and the broker lists balance accruals of 2.5% to 10% for clients who meet volume requirements. A VIP program tied to lifetime deposits can also improve bonus value. Read the bonus terms carefully, because volume and eligibility conditions often determine whether the offer is worth taking.

RoboForex Markets, Leverage and Trading Hours

RoboForex offers 33 currency pairs, 4 commodities, 9 index CFDs, more than 12,000 equity CFDs and more than 1,000 ETFs. Its biggest strength is the stock and ETF range. Forex and commodity selection is smaller than at some rivals.

Maximum leverage is up to 1:2000 for retail traders, though the Prime account is reduced to 1:300. Negative balance protection is available. High leverage can improve capital efficiency, but it can also magnify losses quickly, so size positions carefully.

Trading hours vary by market. Forex is not tied to a single exchange, while stocks and ETFs follow exchange schedules. To check sessions in MT4 or MT5, right-click a symbol in Market Watch, select Specification and scroll to Sessions.

RoboForex Customer Support and Education

Support is available 24/7 through live chat, email, web form, phone and callback requests. The listed languages include English, Spanish and Thai, along with others. The FAQ covers many common questions and explains most services clearly.

The research offering is practical, with in-house market updates and daily trading ideas that are useful for quick checks and trade planning. Education is more limited. New traders can learn the basics of account setup and platform choice, but anyone wanting structured, step-by-step training may need third-party resources.

Who RoboForex Is For

RoboForex suits active traders who prioritise low spreads, fast execution and automation tools. Scalpers and algorithmic traders will find the ECN and Prime pricing and the proprietary strategy tools appealing. Stock CFD and ETF traders also benefit from the broad instrument range.

It is less suitable for beginners who want extensive training, for traders who prefer a large forex and commodity selection, or for anyone based in the US. Trading carries a high risk of loss, and leveraged products can lose value quickly. Only trade with money you can afford to lose. For a comparison with another low-spread option, see our Doo Prime review, or check the XM Group review for a broader range of account types.
